Energy Northwest

Cost Estimating

Synergistics has provided support for Energy Northwest’s Extended Power Uprate (EPU) initiative, which aims to increase the station’s generation capacity to 120% of its Original Licensed Thermal Power. To ensure alignment with project goals, Synergistics collaborated with project managers, station leadership, and station SMEs, dedicating time to thoroughly understand the station’s requirements and regulatory framework. Over a six-month period, Synergistics successfully delivered more than 30 detailed estimate packages, representing $1 billion in estimated costs. These packages included comprehensive estimate development plans, basis of estimate documentation, WBS dictionaries, cost-loaded and logic-driven P6 schedules, and staffing plans. Additionally, Synergistics developed standardized estimating templates for internal use, ensuring consistency and efficiency in future projects. By providing decision-making support and equipping the Energy Northwest team with essential tools and resources, Synergistics has contributed to successful project execution and long-term operational success.

Risk Development

In addition to estimating services, Synergistics has been engaged to provide technical services to Energy Northwest, focusing on optimizing and integrating Safran Risk (SAR) software to support project risk and cost management. The work involves developing and integrating SAR risk and cost input worksheets, reviewing and documenting the capabilities of the SAR software license, and creating customized templates for EN use. To ensure successful functionality, Synergistics is establishing import and export requirements, conducting Beta testing of the prototype, and developing a prototype code that integrates Energy Northwest’s Risk Register into SAR. Additionally, the team is modifying Safran Risk settings, testing inputs, and customizing standard reports to align with project needs. Throughout the process, Synergistics is providing oversight and training to Energy Northwest personnel, ensuring effective software utilization. Active participation in collaborative meetings ensures alignment with project goals and the successful delivery of innovative solutions tailored to Energy Northwest’s requirements.

System Integration

Synergistics is developing a multi-tiered approach to streamline reporting and automating data transfers between software application systems. The process will ensure that current capabilities are maintained while setting the foundation for developing new reporting and automated data transfer interfaces. This new system integration will allow multiple internal organizations to focus on their core responsibilities, resulting in fulfillment of mission objectives with effective project management.
